When I applied for ICC I never though I would ever take an online class. It sounded like just too much work on my part. But after that first semester I decided to try one out for a summer class.
I LOVED it! I took an English 110 class online. At first I thought it would be horrible. We had to write a paper a week. But actually I got a lot out of the class overall. I learned how to push myself and to stay focused on homework. It was great I really learned a lot about how well I was going to do in college.
Since then I’ve taken about 2 more classes online. They all had their pluses, no driving to campus, getting work done in my own time, and open book exams. They also had their negatives as well. I found it pretty difficult at the beginning to remember to do my online course homework, but soon I developed a schedule of which homework I would do on each day. It worked really well and I still use it to an extent today.
At first I thought that online classes would be horrible and too difficult to follow or get work done, but I discovered that it gave me structure that I really liked. So I guess I shouldn’t judge a book by its cover in this case.
I registered for two online classes next semester. I have never had more than one online class at a time so I am hoping that I will do well. Wish me luck!
